Why Bumo?

“I started Bumo in my junior year of high school. It was November and I began to study with them for the ACT the following year. At first, I was hesitant to dedicate so much time to this standardized test so early on in the game. But, the tutors helped me realize how prepared I would be by starting early. They took the time to get to know me, as well as my strengths and weaknesses. They encouraged me to stay focused and to be persistent for the results I wanted. Having someone else to impress or work for makes test-taking much easier. The tutors put so much work in to helping me comprehend the material that I it is only fair that I do my best in return. The camaraderie and youthfulness at Bumo is a breath of fresh air. Soon enough, I became so comfortable at the center that I preferred practicing for my ACT test there rather than at my house.

Joan, the company’s founder, is a diamond in the rough. I never knew someone could be so instrumental in my college application process. She is so busy yet she takes the time to know you personally to the point where she is considered family. She is there every step of the way. The amount of meticulous planning, proofreading, and attention given to her students’ work is remarkable. Joan and her staff work to make sure that their students are well-equipped to take on any standardized test, college essay, college application, and scholarship opportunity thrown their way. The difference between other tutoring centers and Bumo is not just that their help will exceed your expectations, it is that you will leave Bumo knowing you will always have a group of friends who support you unconditionally.”

Sunny on Surviving High School

“I like to think of high school as a microcosm for the outside world: you get out of it as much as you put into it. My advice to current high school students is to find the perfect balance of challenging yourself academically and spiritually. Find out what you are passionate about by trying new things! That way you won’t have any regrets when you graduate because you had an open mind about everything. If you prioritize your academics and try everything that interests you, you will graduate feeling much more fulfilled, and, hopefully, you will have a deeper appreciation for all life has to offer you.”
